Use your new password to log in.  When you log in the page that appears will look very different from the regular website . . .  DON”T PANIC. Probably the only things you will be interested in are:

  • Your Profile which is where you can change things such as your password and your name that appears on the site.
  • And the link in the top bar on the far left that will return you to the normal site which is where you can view the site as you normally would and can comment on posts.

I hope this new addition will not cause any problems and if you don’t wish to make any comments you can still view and access all of the other pages and features of the site without registering.

Care Sheets

We now have several care sheets of commonly kept herps that you can view. The care sheets provide a breif over view of the needs these animals. We will in addition soon be adding breeding guides and general care sheets that will give general info about the care of a type of herp or herps in general.

If you have any suggestions please leave a comment on this post. For info on registering so you can leave comments please see the “Change To Comments” post above.

HR669 is defeated!!

That is right with nearly 50,000 letters, many more emails, and thousands of phone calls from people in the reptile community the bill has been thrown out by the subcommittee! This is Great News!! If you sent letters, emails, or called I would like to thank you on behalf of the reptile community and other pet owners. While they can still rewrite the bill if they do U.S. Association of Reptile Keepers (US ARK) and other important groups will have some say into what happens.

No HR669 — Urgent News!!

If you haven’t heard about HR669 then you must live in a cave, but here’s the deal it is a bill in congress that if passed will virtually shut down the pet industry. The bill is seeking to prevent the breeding, selling, and transporting of any non-native animals. This means that you can no longer buy or breed virtually any kind of reptiles, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, most fish (including harmless little beta fish). The government is seeking to prevent the introduction of any species that would become invasive. In my opinion dogs and cats are more invasive then any of the animals that would be included in this bill. Dogs and cats and other commonly domesticated animals are to be blamed for the extinction of many species around the world, don’t get me wrong I am a fan of dogs and cats but banning them along with other pets would in my opinion be absolutely ridiculous. I encourage you to follow the link below to find out what you can do to stop this bill and check out the page I have put together for you to learn more about this bill.
